  • I have a picture
    Pinned to my wall
An image of you and of me and we're laughing, we're loving it all
But look at our life now
    All tattered and torn
We fuss and we fight and delight in the tears that we cry until dawn
    Oh, whoa

    Hold me now, whoa
    Warm my heart
    Stay with me
    Let loving start
    Let loving start

You say I'm a dreamer, we're two of a kind
Both of us searching for some perfect world we know we'll never find
So perhaps I should leave here
Yeah, yeah, and go far away
But you know that there's nowhere that I'd rather be than with you here today
    Oh, whoa, oh, whoa

    Hold me now, whoa
    Warm my heart
    Stay with me
    Let loving start
    Let loving start, whoa
    Hold me now, whoa
    Warm my heart
    Stay with me
    Let loving start
    Let loving start, whoa

You ask if I love you
    Well, what could I say?
You know that I do and that this is just one of those games that we play
So I'll sing you a new song
    Please don't cry anymore
    I'll even ask your forgiveness
Though I don't know just what I'm asking it for
    Oh, whoa, oh, whoa

    Hold me now, whoa
(Hold me in your loving arms)
    Warm my heart
(Warm my cold and tired heart)
    Stay with me
    (Stay with me)
    Let loving start
    Let loving start, whoa
    Hold me now, whoa
(Hold me in your loving arms)
    Warm my heart
(Warm my cold and tired heart)
    Stay with me
    Let loving start
    Let loving start, whoa
    Hold me now, whoa
(Hold me in your loving arms)
    Warm my heart
(Warm my cold and tired heart)
    Stay with me
    (Stay with me)
    Let loving start
    Let loving start, whoa
    Hold me now, whoa
(Hold me in your loving arms)
    Warm my heart
(Warm my cold and tired heart)
    Stay with me
    (Stay with me)
    Let loving start
    Let loving start, whoa
    Hold me now, whoa
(Hold me in your loving arms)
    Warm my heart
(Warm my cold and tired heart)
    Stay with me
    (Stay with me)
    Let loving start

  • Steveazo from San Mateo, CaThought it didn't chart as high as their Top 11's "Hold Me Now," "Doctor! Doctor!", "Lay Your Hands On Me," and "King For A Day," I recommend listening to "Lies," which was their first U.S. Top 40 hit (went as high as #30 in 1983). "Lies" is my second favorite TT song after "Hold Me Now." I'm just surprised that "HMN" didn't top the U.S. charts nor did the single go at least gold. Such a great song. At the time it was in the Top 5, it was kept out of the top spot (and #2) by the chart toppers "Against All Odds" by Phil Collins, "Footloose" by Kenny Loggins, and "Hello" by Lionel Richie. But #3 for 2 weeks is nothing to sneeze at. :)
  • Susan from Illinois I love this song and the music video. The video was one of the first to use visual effects. Very cool video in the 80s.
  • Dummy from LostDont ever let her go :(((
  • Greg from Weare,nhI always thought it was the girl on the backing vocals!!
  • Seventhmist from 7th HeavenThe only version I ever heard runs close to 5 minutes, which IS about a minute too much of repeated "Hold me now/hold me in your loving arms."
  • Brandon Kwit from PhoenixReminds me of my relationship struggles.
  • Howard from Levittown, PaThis song, as far as I know, got its world premiere 1/1/8i4 on the PBS special, "Good Morning, Mr. Orwell." It was long weeks before it came out as a single, then a video that I'm not sure was needed. The performance on GMMO would have been enough.
  • Esskayess from Dallas, TxThe closing line about asking forgiveness is one of my favorites. Brings to mind a Bill Cosby sketch where the husband says to his angry wife, “I didn’t do anything, but I apologize!”
  • Kayla from Winnipeg, Mb@Megan.. yes it was used in the Wedding Singer! Along with many other amazing songs! :)

Anyway, this song is unbelievable! I mean it's just so catchy and SO fun to sing along to! The Thompson Twins never disappoint! "Doctor Doctor" is my favourite, it's just so so good!
  • Jake from Los Angeles, CaJoe Leeway, the percussionist, now lives in Los Angeles, and is a practicing Hypnotherapist.
  • Megan from Stevenson, AlI love this song! It's soooo catchy! Wasn't this on "The Wedding Singer"?!
  • Sibella from Pretoria, South AfricaThe Thompsons aren't actually twins. They just look like it. They have different surnames (Thompson and Thomson).
  • Robert from Houston, TxIs that Robert John singing the counter vocal during the outro? Anybody know?
  • Bella from Pretoria, --Pete from Nowra, I don't really know this music, I just wanna mention that I'm a huge Tintin fan and I dig their name!I have all the books.
  • David from Deerfield Beach, FlPosted 11/26/2007. "Hold Me Now" is one of my favorite songs of the entire 1980's. "Lay Your Hands On Me" the following year in 1985 was also a pretty good song.
  • Pete from Nowra, Australiai use to love the Tin Tin books read everyone as a kid
