  • Zorro-3 from AtlantaThe final line cleverly subverts the rest of the song. Until then, the singer seems to be an alpha male, a streetwise man of the world, offering to take a beta male under his wing. He finally reveals that it's wishful thinking.
  • Nena Muehlberg from Tulsa, OklahomaI don't care what the feminists thought, it was one of my favorite songs. We are stupid sometimes too!
  • Dean Fritz from Birmingham, AlThis is my favorite song by him!
  • Wc from Buffalo NyTodd played my school (St. Bonaventure University) in 1973'ish and we were all dying to hear "We gotta get you a woman" and he steadfastly refused to play it and as I recall, was a pill about it. He made no effort to connect with the audience. In contrast, we later had David Crosby and Graham Nash and they were fantastic and charming and had us eating out of their hands.
  • Papa JohnThis song subject matter is antiquated. It’s also just cheesy and lame.
  • John from GallagherTo Ed from Rio by the Sea-Oh. I was always curious abut that too, so :https://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Post hanging days
Post hanging days are from a binge of heavy drinking. Leroy is on a bad drunk again, so more post hanging days will come.
  • Ed from Rio CityWhat does post-hanging days mean?
  • Camille from Toronto, OhThis is a fabulous song. The lyrics sounds just like a conversation that would go on between friends; one guy talking to another guy. The hook is in the very last line of the song; it's worth waiting for and lifts the whole song to another level:
We gotta get you a woman
And when we're through with you,
    We'll get me one too.
  • Esskayess from Dallas, TxThe remark in it about women had more than a few of them irate when it hit the airwaves.
