Songfacts®:

  • This light acoustic number runs to 4 minutes 19 seconds on the Modern Times album. A live version can be found on the unofficial 3 volume CD collection Oceans Of Delphi, on which Stewart says it is an enigmatic song "about falling in love with the wrong discus thrower" - yes, he really did use that phrase.
  • Set in the seaside town of Brighton, it appears to contain an oblique reference to the lady author Edna O'Brien, but like many such songs the listener can be left to find his own interpretation. >>>

  • Rabbi Meyer from Central WisconsinThis is such a great song about relationships - they may start strong or become strong but then "it comes to you she journeyed to the center of your life, but she never really found you." But take my advice, don't play this song for the girl you're about to break up with because of such a sentiment.
