Songfacts®:

  • This was originally a new wave song by Joe Jackson on his 1979 Look Sharp! debut Album. Thrash metal band Anthrax's metallic cover of this became their biggest hit at the time in the UK beating the #20 placement of "I'm Your Man." Six months later it was usurped by the #14 charting of "Bring The Noise," their collaboration with Public Enemy's Chuck D.
  • The song is about the way so many of us are caught up in a desperate rush to get things done and how time so often seems to be against us.
