Songfacts®:

  • After Beabadoobee and Icelandic-Chinese jazz-pop sensation Laufey recorded a viral TikTok that made them look like long-lost musical cousins, their fans clamored for a collaboration. The two granted their wishes and Beabadoobee released this song on October 20, 2023.

"I've been writing with a lot of different rhythms recently, also with strings and nods to more classical sounds," said Beabadoobee. "Laufey is a great fit for this sound and we had started hanging out in London so we got in the studio together to work on music and try ideas with my producer Jacob Bugden. We also hung in New York on my tour and started becoming closer friends."
  • "A Night to Remember" is a jazzy serenade to an instant romantic connection where both feel they've always known each other. A whirlwind of passion ignites, then they part ways. Despite the fleeting nature of the encounter, the imprint is eternal, a night etched in memory.
  • Beabadoobee and Laufey's heartfelt voices express the unspoken emotions of this brief yet unforgettable meeting where love felt timeless and transcendent.

"There are so many songs about being rejected as a woman and this song is about being on the other side of the coin – having one great night then walking away," said Laufey. "Reclaiming the narrative!"
  • Beabadoobee and Laufey recorded "A Night to Remember" in London with Bea's producer, Jacob Bugden. They added some finishing touches in LA with Laufrey's producer, Spencer Stewart.
