Songfacts®:

  • "Baby, I'm Jealous" is a slinky, self-reflecting tune where Bebe Rexha explores the negatives of living in a digital age and the world's expectations of women.

    Baby, I'm jealous
Of the pictures that you like
    Baby, I'm jealous
Of the girls with lighter eyes

Rexha explained that she penned the song about embracing her insecurities as she scrolled through photos on her phone. "It's about the way social media has heightened my jealousy which can affect how I feel about myself," she said. "We are constantly flooded with the highlights of other people's lives, and at times I find myself comparing my worth and beauty to others."

"It's part of the human process to experience jealousy," Rexha added. "Ultimately, this is an anthem to embrace those feelings as a form of empowerment."
  • Doja Cat joins Rexha on the playful track. She unleashes her own verse about stealing another girl's man before the pair team up for the chorus in the back half of the song.
  • Bebe Rexha and Doja Cat wrote the song with:

Pop songwriter Justin Tranter, who has also co-penned hit tunes for the likes of Justin Bieber ("Sorry"), Selena Gomez ("Good For You") and Hailee Steinfeld ("Love Myself"),

Finnish-American producer and songwriter Jussi Karvinen, who previously worked with Bebe Rexha on "I'm a Mess."
  • Jason Gill helmed the bass-loaded funky tune with up-and-coming producer Jussifer. Gill has also worked with Katy Perry ("Never Really Over"), Tove Lo ("Lies In The Dark") and Zara Larsson "Love Me Land").
  • The Hannah Lux Davis video co-stars influencers Charli D'Amelio, Nikita Dragun, and Avani Gregg along with Rexha and Doja. The clip sees Rexha going on a time-traveling journey back to the 1800s, 10,089 BC and the dawn of creation.
