When asked by American Songwriter magazine what was a lyric that he is especially proud of, Howard replied the start of this song is one he is particularly pleased with. He explained that it, "always reminds me of home when I sing it so I always think it's quite a good little lyric because it pictures a place for me instantly." Howard added: "It's nothing profound, it's just 'and the birds still sing outside these windows where we sat together.' It always reminds me of my little window at home."
"Come Dancing" by The Kinks was inspired by the older sister of Ray Davies, who would make guys take her out dancing and spend their money on her, only to send them home frustrated with just a peck on the cheek.
It really was so easy for Linda Ronstadt to score a hit with her Buddy Holly cover of "It's So Easy." She would sometimes change the lyric to: "It's so easy to have a hit, all you have to do is recycle it."
The TV show Cheers was nearly canceled after its first season, but the theme song, "Where Everybody Knows Your Name," was very popular. To satisfy viewer demand, the theme was made into a full song and released as a single.
