  • A year after Carter Faith released her 2025 debut album, Cherry Valley, she issued a deluxe version called Cherry Valley Forever, containing five additional songs, with the lead single being "Ain't Over Me Yet." The melancholy ballad finds the country singer all dressed up with nowhere to go, and she contemplates reaching out to an ex she hasn't spoken to in months. She's willing to give the romance another shot, even if it's for just one night. "Yeah, baby I can take another regret," she sings. "Kiss me like you ain't over me yet."

After coming up with the chorus, Faith wrote the rest of the tune with veteran Nashville songwriters Hillary Lindsay and Steve Rush. "I just loved, 'All gussied up to get down.' I kept turning that over in my head. And thankfully they liked the chorus," she told the Off The Record podcast in 2026. "I've had this experience before where you're hoping someone's not over you yet because you're not over them yet. And maybe we could have one last hurrah-type thing just for the night."
