Songfacts®:

  • This is the lead single from Chris Brown and Young Thug's mixtape Slime & B. The pair previously collaborated on the official remix of Brown's 2015 song "Wrist," the free-released 2016 track "Dat Night," and the 2017 Heartbreak on a Full Moon cut, "High End."
  • Brown and Young Thug address their girlfriends throughout the song, urging them to be uninhibited in the bedroom (to "go crazy") when they turn up in their cribs. Because their ladies are special to them, they promise to splash out on luxury clothing and jewelry to make them happy.
  • The track samples The Showboys 1986 single "Drag Rap (Triggerman)." Drake also borrowed from the track for his 2018 hit single "Nice For What," while Brown previously sampled it on his 2019 song "Emerald / Burgundy."
  • Production is courtesy of:

Murphy Kid, whose previous credits include TLC's "Sy Ari da Kid" and Usher's "Rivals."

KanielTheOne, who frequently produces for Lil Xan and $teven Cannon.
  • The song inspired an Instagram dance challenge, the #gocrazychallenge, in which participants dance to the track alongside a moving car whose door is open. It is similar to Drake's "#InMyFeelingsChallenge," where people jump out of a car to perform the dance.
  • "Go Crazy" was Chris Brown's biggest Hot 100 hit since "Forever" reached #2 in 2008.
  • "Go Crazy" won Song of The Year at the 2020 Soul Train Music Awards. Chris Brown also picked up the gongs for Best Dance Performance and Best Collaboration Performance at the event.
  • The official remix features Future, Lil Durk, and Mulatto, with the three rappers continuing the song's theme of "going crazy" in the bedroom.
  • The song spent 29 weeks at the top of Billboard's R&B/Hip-Hop radio airplay chart. When "Go Crazy" posted its 28th week at the summit, it became the tally's longest-running leader, overtaking the 27 weeks at the peak position achieved by Chris Brown's collaboration with Drake, "No Guidance."

Brown and Young Thug's record was usurped by SZA's "Snooze" when it logged its 30th week atop the tally dated February 17, 2024.
  • Chris Brown performed "Go Crazy" live for the first on September 24, 2021, at Staples Center in Los Angeles during an appearance on Lil Baby's Back Outside Tour.

Two months later, Wiz Kid brought out Chris Brown as a surprise guest during his November 28, 2021 gig at London's O2 arena. Breezy ran through this song, marking his first UK performance in 11 years. His unexpected appearance followed the revocation of his ban from entering the UK after being charged with assaulting Rihanna.
