  • Disco-Tex was the pseudonym of a hairdresser by the name of Sir Monti Rock III (born Joseph Montanez) who had been a teen idol and a regular on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson in the 1960s.
  • The first hit for Disco Tex, this was one of the first disco records. Disco Tex and the Sex-O-Lettes follow-up to this, "I Wanna Dance With Choo," was also a hit. Future dance singer Jocelyn Brown supplied backup vocals for "I Wanna Dance With Choo," as well as some of their album tracks.
  • Chelsea Records also issued this song as a 10" single, the first time this promotional device was ever used. The first ever 12" promo was "Swearin' To God" by Frankie Valli on Private Stock.
  • Former Four Seasons producer and co-writer Bob Crewe produced this song. He also wrote the song along with Kenny Nolan. The duo wrote numerous Top 40 hits of the '70s, including the #1 records, "Lady Marmalade" for Labelle and 'My Eyes Adored You' for Frankie Valli.
