Songfacts®:

  • Released as a single from the Bonus Edition of Future Nostalgia, this song finds Dua Lipa flustered and feverish around a love interest.
  • "Fever" is a sultry dance-pop song with simmering synth-pop beats rather than the disco thumpers that make up many of the Future Nostalgia tracks.
  • Belgian singer-songwriter Angèle joins Dua Lipa on the track. She sings a couple of verses in French where she too is yearning over a guy who is making her hot and sweaty.

Angèle Van Laeken broke out in 2018 in French when her single "Tout oublier," which features her brother Roméo Elvis, topped the Belgian and French charts. The accompanying album Broi also reached #1 in Belgium and France.
  • Dua Lipa and Angèle wrote the song with:

American producer Ian Kirkpatrick and Norwegian songwriter Caroline Ailin, who both co-penned "New Rules" and "Don't Start Now."

American singer-songwriter Julia Michaels, whose other writing credits include Justin Bieber's "Sorry," Selena Gomez' "Lose You to Love Me," and Hailee Steinfeld's "Love Myself." She also had her own hit single with "Issues."

American songwriter and rapper Jacob Kasher Hindlin, who's also contributed to hit songs by Charlie Puth ("Attention"), Katy Perry ("Daisies") and Maroon 5 ("Memories").

Ian Kirkpatrick also produced the mellow track.
  • The We Are From LA-directed video sees Dua Lipa and Angèle wandering around a nightime London after leaving a club. They roam the rainy midnight streets before ending up at a noisy house party, much to the annoyance of the neighbors.

We Are From LA is a French duo comprising Clément Durou and Pierre Dupaquier. The pair are best known for creating a 24-hour Music video for Pharrell Williams' "Happy."
