Songfacts®:

  • Rose premiered this song during a surprise appearance at the MTV VMAs in the mid 2000s. Since that performance he has added dialogue samples including the prison captain's monologue from the 1967 Paul Newman movie Cool Hand Luke. The same sample was also previously used by Guns N' Roses in their 1991 number Civil War. This song also features an interpolation of Martin Luther King Jr.'s famous "I Have a Dream" speech.
