Songfacts®:

  • Hillsong Worship leader Aodhan King originally wrote this song with Hannah Hobbs and Michael Fatkin back around 2015 while working on a Young & Free album. They ended up not using it for the record.

A few years later, when they were finishing There is More, co-producer Brooke Ligertwood asked King if he had any songs that he was working on. They ended up recording "Touch of Heaven" live the next day.
  • The song is about pursuing God, going deeper with the Lord, desperate for a touch of heaven. King told NewReleaseToday: "It's almost a prayer for me. I wanted a piece that expressed my desire to experience and know God more. Growing up in church and getting involved in writing songs, I found myself going at a rapid pace and wanting to take time and reflect on knowing God more deeply."
