  • "Over And Over And Over" dates back to the mid-2000s. Jack White told Rolling Stone that he attempted to record the operatic track with The White Stripes, The Raconteurs and on a separate occasion, with Jay-Z. He eventually produced a version he liked, which he laid down for Boarding House Reach.

"It was sort of my white whale," he said. "I chased it and chased it, and finally, all of a sudden, it worked."
  • Asked by The Sun what the lightbulb moment was that enabled him to complete the song, White replied: "The stupidest thing is that it was right in front of my face for a few years. It was the Bumble Buzz guitar pedal by this company called Union which we sell at Third Man Records. It created this sound that I really loved and suddenly it just clicked. Then I finally wrote the lyrics because I never had any for it before."
  • The video was filmed in London, UK and directed by Us, a duo consisting of Christopher Barrett and Luke Taylor. The mind-bending clip finds White rocking out in a house. He encounters there a selection of different occupants, including his own doppelganger.
  • This was the tune that Jack White chose to open his concerts with in 2018. He told Rolling Stone: "In 2018, this is really the song I want to project to people. It's really powerful to start the set off with it, and I think there's a strangeness to it. It can be off-putting. I love that zone."
