  • "3310" takes its name from the Nokia 3310, the famously indestructible mobile phone that was everywhere in the early 2000s, back when a device was used for calling friends and playing Snake instead of managing your entire life. Jamie T turns this relic of his youth, along with cheap snakebite and other badges of growing up, into a rowdy guitar anthem.
  • The song began as something quite different. "It's a song about obsession. Well, that's what it was about originally. And then I kind of rewrote it. And I believe now it's about long-standing friendship and loyalty," Jamie T told Jack Saunders on BBC Radio 1.

The shift in focus reflects how he assembled his sixth album, Ghosts (100 Days of Morning), building tracks from scraps of ideas recorded over several years.

"Most of the ideas from the record came from voice memos that span quite a long period of time," he explained, noting that many fragments were written in different states of mind. Returning to them years later gave the lyrics a fresh dimension: "So when they were originally written... a lot of them were about quite different things, or at least I was in a different headspace at the time. By the time I went back and finished them, they had a different feeling to them."
  • The mix of nostalgia and perspective runs throughout "3310." Jamie T wanted to look back on his younger days with fondness, even if memory has a habit of smoothing over the rougher edges. "The idea was, you're looking back on things, and it's nice to look back with rose-tinted glasses... like it was a fun time," he said. "But in reality, I'm more than happy where I am. So 40 is better than 33."
  • Jamie T wrote and produced the track with James Dring, who also handles bass and keyboards. Dring's resumé includes co-writing Rizzle Kicks' 2011 UK hit "When I Was a Youngster" alongside work with Lana Del Rey and Alice Merton. He also collaborated with Gorillaz, earning a co-producer credit on their 2005 album Demon Days, including hits like "Feel Good Inc." and "DARE."
  • The music video, directed by Rob Thorogood, was filmed at the seaside and captures that strange hour of the morning when two different worlds collide. Early risers heading out for work or a jog cross paths with partygoers finally stumbling home after a long night out. Their lives briefly intersect on the beach in a muddle of the fresh-faced and the completely exhausted.
  • Jamie T wrote Ghosts (100 Days of Morning) after a period of quiet reflection, working partly during a solitary trip to Siena, Italy, while sifting through old voice notes. "Everyone has a part of themselves they keep at arm's length, even from the people they love," he said. "Ghosts to me is about seeing that version of yourself for the first time in a long time and trying to hold on to it. This album is me trying to find that again."
  • The album title also nods to The Jam's 1982 track "Ghosts," from their album The Gift. Deeply immersed in Paul Weller's songwriting at the time, Jamie T recorded an uptempo version of the track, which ultimately became the title track of his own record.
  • The album cover contains artwork by TAMP, an anonymous graffiti artist from Bognor Regis known for painting flyover support columns to look like everyday items, including a giant cigarette.
  • Ghosts (100 Days of Morning) debuted at #1 on the UK Albums Chart, giving Jamie T his second consecutive #1 record, following his 2022 release The Theory of Whatever.
