Songfacts®:

  • Co-written by Justin DeRulo with Justin Tranter (Justin Bieber's "Sorry," Selena Gomez' "Good For You"), this is a hopeful song about a failed relationship that will maybe work out in the next life.

If I'm lucky I'll meet ya
    Flipside of the graveyard
'Cause things didn't work out in this life but someday.

DeRulo explained to Billboard: "It comes from past relationships that you think most things are good, but for some reason or another, things just don't work out. They're someone who are really compatible for you but for some reason it just doesn't work. Hopefully that situation can pan out in the next life."
  • The song was produced by the Swedish production team Mattman & Robin, who also collaborated with Tranter on Nick Jonas' "Close," DNCE's "Cake By The Ocean" and Hailee Steinfeld's "Love Myself."
