  • Kacey sings on this cut about seeing the country together from inside a mobile home. It was one of the first songs written for her Same Trailer Different Park album. The singer-songwriter told Radio.com that it wasn't until she met fellow songwriters like Josh Osbourne and Shane McAnally, who helped her co-write this fun ditty that she feels she was able to fully express herself . "I kind of found my stride," she said. "Once I had 'My House,' which is kind of a trailer themed song...'Merry Go 'Round' mentions trailers, I was kind of like, 'I think this should kind of have this trailer park vibe.' And then after that it was easy to run with."
  • Asked by CMT News about the appeal of trailers to her, Musgraves explained that the first house that she lived in after being born in the hospital was a mobile home. "I didn't necessarily grow up in a trailer park," she explained, "but there is a brief part of that in my life. So I can make fun of it a little bit. I'm not too much of an outsider, where I'm just making fun of someone."

"That culture is interesting to me," Musgraves added. "It's pretty transient. There are people always moving in and out. There's always drama, just like any other neighborhood. I like the fact that it's a big metal box that people can move around. It's pretty wild. That's really an American thing. They don't have that in other countries."
  • Here are a few more songs with trailer park themes:

"Bury My Heart At The Trailer Park" by Roger Clyne & the Peacemakers

    "Trailerhood" by Toby Keith

"A Dustland Fairytale" by The Killers
