Kano told Q magazine about the collaboration. "I'd met him a few times here when he was doing Gorillaz and we always talked about working. But it was mad the way It happened. My mum was in Jamaica for her 60th birthday and I went out there and had two extra days after she left. He took us to some street parties, crazy places, and then late one evening said, 'We should go to the studio!' So yeah why not?! It was nice to catch that vibe with him over there. The dancehall thing is so a part of me."
This is a track from Kano's Hoodies All Summer album. The record finds him conflicted; even the title is a reference to feelings of doubt and alienation. "That came from a line in 'Teardrops,' he told Q magazine. 'When it rains it pours, hoodies all summer because teardrops from the sky only seem to fall on you and I.' It's about an attitude, a mentality, a resonance. We know we always get sh-ted on, but we're prepared."
Taylor Swift's “Shake It Off” was inspired by how she'd learned to deal with all the false rumors that circulated about her. "The only thing we can control is our reaction to that ,” said Swift. "You can either let it get to you … [or] you just shake it off."
"Kickstart My Heart" is about all the ways Motley Crue gets their blood flowing without drugs. It was inspired by their bass player Nikki Sixx, who claimed he had to be revived with a shot of adrenaline to the heart after an overdose.
