Songfacts®:

  • Written in studio, Lifehouse lead singer Jason Wade was reflecting over the changes that their record label DreamWorks being bought out would bring. He was wondering where they were going to go from there, and if the band would remain together.
  • In 2004, a year before it appeared on Lifehouse's self titled album, a version by Jason Wade solo was used on the soundtrack to the movie Win A Date With Tad Hamilton.
  • Jason Wade explained: "'Days Go By' was written in that 10 minute period where I just jotted down the lyrics instead of going into it and trying to write a song about something. I ended up trying to figure out what the song meant afterwards."
