Illinois born and bred country singer Margo Price dropped out of school aged 20, and moved to Nashville. She spent her twenties there waiting tables and playing open-mike details.

Price details in this song how she did get attention from industry figures, just not the kind of attention she wanted. "That's about a guy who told me he had worked with the Dixie Chicks and all these big names from the noughties," she explained to Mojo. "He said he wanted me to write songs for other people, but when he invited me to his house and there was another guy there, both of them smiling at me, I realised what he really wanted. 'Sleazy' is the word I would use."
The song is a track from Midwest Farmer's Daughter, the first country album to be released on Jack White's Third Man Records.
