Songfacts®:

  • "Chasing (Demo)" is a ballad where NF raps about wanting to escape his negative thoughts. The track comprises two snippets he'd previously posted on social media: "Bad Person," where NF reflects on the negative impact he may have on those he loves, and "Run Away," about his desire to break away from his problems.
  • That's 15-year-old Australian NF fan Mikayla Sippel singing the chorus. A couple of days after the rapper posted a clip of the song, he came across a cover video posted by Sippel. NF was blown away by her velvety voice crooning the chorus and with his producer Tommee's help added her audio to his demo. He released the completed song as a single on October 12, 2020.
