Songfacts®:

  • The lyrics, "Who tied my hands to the wheel" might refer to the Greek myth of Ixion. He was tied to a winged fiery wheel (a.k.a. a solar wheel, which explains the next lyrics: "The Zodiac turns over me") in Hades for being lustful for Hera after being invited to the table of the gods. Zeus found out about this and made a cloud in the shape of Hera to fool Ixion into coupling with it and that's when he was expelled from Olympus and tied to the wheel. >>
