Songfacts®:

  • This early Radiohead song finds lead singer Thom Yorke doing a bit of self-loathing. The lyrics are rather ambiguous, but according to Q magazine, Yorke is putting himself in the position of a lonely former paramour of a hit-making star.
  • "Thinking About You" dates back to 1991, when the band was still known as On A Friday. After signing with EMI in 1992, they changed their name to Radiohead and included the song on an EP called Drill along with two other songs that were used on their 1993 debut album, Pablo Honey: "Prove Yourself" and "You."
  • The version released on Pablo Honey is acoustic. The earlier version on the Drill EP is electric. >>
