The pair had previously collaborated on two previously occasions. Firstly Weezy featured on "Shooters," which appeared on both his 2005 Tha Carter II and the Los Angeles native's 2006 The Evolution of Robin Thicke. Two years later Thicke appeared on "Tie My Hands," off Tha Carter III.
