  • Here, a toxic, controlling ex inspires a toast to Shania Twain's new independence.

    No, I don't need a king
    So keep the ring
I've got the gold in my chest
    A heart that can sing
    I'm a queen

The song reaffirms Twain's fabled independent spirit. "I need the space to make my own decisions, to drive my own bus, be my own person," she told UK magazine Radio Times. "'Queen Of Me' is about taking charge of your mindset. Recognize what your skills are, what you're good at, then use them, put them into action."
  • Twain co-wrote the song with Adam Messinger, one half of the Canadian songwriting and production duo The Messengers alongside Nasri Atweh. Their partnership has functioned as a writing and production team for such artists as Justin Bieber, Shakira, Christina Aguilera, Chris Brown, and Halsey, as well as Nasri Atweh's band, Magic!
  • "The Queen Of Me" is the title track of Twain's sixth studio album. Released on February 3, 2023 by Republic Records, it is her first album not released with her previous label, Mercury Nashville.
  • The album cover establishes the mood for the songs within – Twain confidently sits atop a magnificent dark steed, dressed in a revealing black ensemble, exuding an air of self-assuredness and command over her own fate. "I was very specific about that photo," she revealed to The Sun. "It contains so many messages. I wanted it to represent somebody who is in charge of their own actions. Sitting up on a horse is just that in itself."

"And I'm not wearing a bra," Twain added triumphantly. "I'm being very forthcoming about newfound confidence in my body image."
