Songfacts®:

  • Sleigh Bells wrote this with producer Mike Elizondo, who has worked with a variety of artists including Eminem, Carrie Underwood, Maroon 5 and Avenged Sevenfold. Guitarist Derek Miller told The Line Of Best Fit:

"Mike Elizondo shredded us for what we had initially. If you ever have the chance to work with Mike Elizondo, do it! Hell of a guy. He listened to everything and pushed us to come up with better ideas, better melodies, a sturdier arrangement for this one."
  • Singer Alexis Krauss told Artist Direct that she and Derek Miller were determined to do their own thing on Jessica Rabbit.

"I think it's actually about being as self-indulgent as possible," she said. "Taking risks, and stepping outside your own expectations of the band saying 'Can we get way with this?!' And then ultimately deciding that we can (Laughs)

I think 'I Can't Stand You Anymore' is a perfect example of that approach," Krauss added. "I remember working on that song and thinking, 'Oh no! Is this way off?!' and we were both like 'I don't know!' but then we just thought 'F--k it - it's going to be a Sleigh Bells song.'"
