This acoustic hip-hop track was the fourth single from British rapper Speech Debelle's Mercury Prize winning album, Speech Therapy.
Debelle was suspended from school 11 times and after being kicked out of home after a row with her single mum she spent the following four years living in homeless hostels and friends' floors. This song documents that difficult time.
"Pretty In Pink" by Psychedelic Furs was released in 1981. Five years later, it inspired a movie of the same name starring Molly Ringwald, Andrew McCarthy and Jon Cryer. The song was remixed for the re-release to have more Pop appeal.
