Songfacts®:

  • The Aperol Spritz is a drink with a bright orange glow and a bubbly, bittersweet taste. Created in Italy, this cocktail has been an Italian social staple for many decades. In recent years, however, it's gone global, becoming a must-have for anyone wanting to capture the essence of sunny piazzas, idle chatter, and the general sense that everything's just a little more glamorous with a glass in hand.

The ingredients are simple, but like all good Italian things, the magic is in the mixture. First, there's Aperol, the apéritif that's so orange it makes a sunset look underdressed. It's bittersweet, with a touch of citrus and herbs. Next comes Prosecco, Italy's sparkling wine contribution to the world, which adds a light fizz and sweetness. Top that off with soda water for a little refreshment, and garnish with a slice of orange.

In this song, The Kid Laroi contrasts his favorite tipple, Hennessy, with that of his girlfriend, the Canadian pop star Tate McRae: an Aperol Spritz.
  • Throughout the rest of the song, Laroi brags that while he's surrounded by lots of girls, none can hold a candle to his romantic partner. Laroi also lays into Tate McRae's ex-boyfriend, BlueJackets hockey player Cole Sillinger. From their cars to their watches to, well, let's say bedroom performance, Laroi makes it clear who's on top. The Aussie rapper previously dissed Sillinger on his "Girls" single, claiming he cheated on McRae.
  • Laroi teamed up with producers Nico Baran and Devin Workman and his engineer Manny Marroquin to craft this ode to love, alcohol, and one-upmanship.

Baran is a go-to beatmaker for Internet Money, with credits for Bad Bunny ("Fina"), and Ice Spice ("Did It First").

    Workman's resumé includes co-producing Dominic Fike's 2023 Sunburn album.
  • The music video, directed by Alex Lill (Tierra Whack, The Weeknd), turns up the vibrant, '90s fashion-inspired visuals with slow-motion scenes of Laroi being chased by an army of girls.
  • Laroi first performed "Aperol Spritz" live during his concert at Radio City Music Hall, New York City, on June 17, 2024, before releasing it as a single on October 11, 2024.
