  • This song shows a different light to the Ting Tings. Katie White explained to the Sun newspaper May 23, 2008: "It's like a lullaby and shows we can sing quite well. For the rest of the album we were just in a shouty mood. I like a good shout."
  • Jules De Martino told Rhapsody about this song: "'Traffic Light' is the only song on the album that wasn't written in succession. It was a song that we had before we started the Ting Tings. After our last band fell apart, the one thing that kept us trying music was the song 'Traffic Light.' It is just really about being let down by a relationship."
