Songfacts®:

  • This Ne-Yo co-penned ballad is one of two new songs (the other is "Posh Life") that appear on TLC's greatest hits album TLC 20. The mid-tempo cut finds Tionne "T-Boz" Watkins and Rozonda "Chilli" Thomas looking back at their career together. They sing on the hook:

"Cause we knew, said we always knew
That no matter what would occur that we were
    Meant to be
And it ain't going to be easy
But no matter what, baby we're meant to be."

T-Boz told MTV News the song said summed up how she and Chilli are feeling right now. "We always said it was an 'MTB thing,' it was meant to be," she said, "so it's like a song that wraps up our 20 years history together in one song."
  • The video sees T-Boz and Chilli recording the song in a studio with Ne-Yo mixed with old clips from TLC's past performances and home videos.
