Album: Love, Simon (2018)

Songfacts®:

  • A leftover track from Troye Sivian's debut album Blue Neighbourhood, this song was eventually heard by the public when it appeared in the coming-of-age gay teen movie Love, Simon. The film's soundtrack was executive produced by Bleachers' Jack Antonoff.
  • The song was produced by Jack Antonoff, who was fresh from working with Taylor Swift on her 1989 album. Sivan recalled in a video interview:

"Basically, 1989 had just come out and [frequent collaborator] Alex Hope and I were geeking out over it so hard, and then we got told that Jack wanted to get into the studio and work with us. We were so nervous. I think that's the most nervous I've ever been for a session, probably, but we came in and we completely brought our A game. We wrote really cool lyrics and stuff like that, and we wrote a song that we didn't end up using."
