Songfacts®:

  • Here, Venbee exposes her vulnerable side, washing away her tears while seeking solace in drinking. We witness her relentless pursuit of redemption, yearning to break free from the cycle of trouble that haunts her.
  • "Die Young" captures a pivotal moment in Venbee's life when she hit rock bottom. It's based around a conversation she had with her granny during that trying period. "I was raised in a religious background, and my mom was very faithful," Venbee told BBC Radio 1's Clara Amfo. "She's stuck by my side, and it is for me, it's a memory of that difficult time that me and my family and anyone else has been through something like that can be like child it through."

"I think faith and hope is incredibly important to people," she added, "and that was like, that was incredibly important to my mom. It is a wonderful thing."
  • Venbee wrote the hook in her bedroom and took it into a session with Richard Boardman (Clean Bandit and Jess Glynne's "Real Love," KSI featuring Tom Grennan's "Not Over Yet") and Digital Farm Animals (Dua Lipa's "Be The One," KSI's "Holiday").
  • Rudimental co-produced this drum and bass banger with Digital Farm Animals. Venbee, who has been a fan of drum and bass since her early teenage years, credits Rudimental with introducing her to the sound.
