Songfacts®:

  • "La Victima," meaning "The Victim," is a breakup ballad centered on a man lamenting a lost relationship. He accuses his ex-partner of playing the victim while he's the one truly suffering because of her unfaithfulness. The lyrics are filled with anger, hurt, and disbelief, expressing his struggle to move on.

"It was inspired by a true story that happened to a good friend of mine," Xavi said of "La Víctima." As he was telling it to me, I picked up my guitar and wrote it on the spot."
  • Xavi wrote "La Victima" himself. It was produced by Ernesto Fernández, who has collaborated with Peso Pluma on several of his hits, including "Luna" and "Ella Baila Sola" (with Eslabon Armado).
  • Interscope released "La Victima," on August 17, 2023. It became Xavi's first entry on any Billboard chart when it debuted at #46 on the November 25, 2023 Hot Latin list. It entered the Hot 100 a month later, the same week "La Diabla" debuted on the chart.
