Songfacts®:

  • "Luna" is a collaboration between Mexican corrido tumbado artists Peso Pluma and Junior H. The song is a romantic ballad about their love for a beautiful, mysterious, and unattainable woman. Accompanied by a mellifluous trombone riff, they beseech the Moon ("Luna") to become her eternal guardian. They may vanish from her sight, but the enduring moon will forever grace her presence.
  • Peso Pluma recorded the song for his third studio album, Génesis. Released through Double P Records on June 22, 2023, it debuted at #3 on the US Billboard 200, becoming the highest-charting regional Mexican album in the chart's history.
  • Peso Pluma and Junior H have collaborated on several previous occasions, including their joint 2023 single "El Azul" and another Génesis track, "Lady Gaga."
  • Peso Pluma wrote "Luna" himself and co-produced it with Jesús Iván Leal Reyes and Ernesto Fernánde. Reyes co-produced 10 out of the 14 tracks on Génesis, including the single "Bye." He also contributed to the Mexican singer's Becky G collaboration, "Chanel."
