  • This largely spoken-word track finds Young Thug reflecting on some harrowing incidents involving his family. They include:

The fatal shooting of one of Thug's older brothers.

His father returning home to find Thug's mother having sex with a deputy sheriff. His dad shot both of them and they ended up in the hospital.

His mom having a stroke after she tried to break up a fight involving his sisters.

Thug also talks about appearing as a witness to save his biological brother, Unfoonk, from going to jail.
  • Later on in the song, Thug ruminates on his come up. He discusses how his confidence and hard work got him out of the Atlanta Jonesboro South projects.
  • Thug debuted "Die Slow" on July 24, 2021 at Rolling Loud and performed it on NPR's Tiny Desk (Home) Concert a couple of days later.
  • Rapper/singer Strick joins Young thug on the track. Strick, who is signed to Thugger's YSL Records, previously featured on his boss' Slime Language track "STS" and Slime Language 2 cut "MoonMan."
  • Charlie Handsome created the guitar-driven beat. The producer/writer also has credits on songs by the likes of Khalid ("Better") Travis Scott's ("5% Tint"), Trevor Daniel ("Falling") and Juice WRLD ("Life's A Mess").
