Songfacts®:

  • "Spend Dat" is a hook-laden hip-hop track that finds Yung Miami centering on hustler culture, financial independence, scamming, and contemporary romance. Riding a laidback beat and a sing-song flow steeped in the distinctive cadence of Miami's Opa-locka neighborhood, she delivers a hustler's anthem that doubles as a dating manifesto.

"I just wanted to do something for the hustlers," she told Genius. "Make some motivational music for them. Something they can f--k with. I mean, I come from that, too."
  • The title works in two directions. On one hand, it's about enjoying the rewards of hard-earned money, whether that's everyday spending or making it rain at the strip club. On the other, it's a playful instruction for a romantic partner to loosen the purse strings. Yung Miami clarified: "When you with a man, baby, spend that money. Like you in a strip club, you got to spend the money."
  • Yung Miami cited Gunna's 2025 single single "WGFT" as the sonic inspiration behind "Spend Dat." She said she wanted something "laidback, a slow tempo beat... top back, just like a vibe."
  • J. White Did It produced the track. Real name Anthony Germaine White, he's an Arkansas-born producer who rose to fame producing Cardi B's breakthrough hits, including "Bodak Yellow" and "I Like It," and later "Savage (Remix)" by Megan Thee Stallion featuring Beyoncé, which won Best Rap Song at the 2021 Grammy Awards.
  • The music video was released simultaneously with the song on April 24, 2026. Directed by Supo Supreme, it's set in an opulent strip club and includes cameos from NeNe Leakes, Trina, Trick Daddy, and Ball Greezy.
  • Two days before the song's arrival, Miami previewed "Spend Dat" on Fat Joe and Jadakiss' Joe and Jada podcast. Both rap veterans were sold, declaring it "the song of the summer." The track debuted at #66 on the Billboard Hot 100, becoming Yung Miami's third solo chart entry.
  • The song found a second life on TikTok. On May 9, 2026, creator Julius Gunder (@mrflawdaaa), known for launching viral dance trends for artists including Bossman Dlow, posted a "Spend Dat" challenge that quickly amassed nearly 600,000 views. Yung Miami joined the trend on May 17, drawing more than 1.3 million views of her own before naming Gunder the winner of her Goyard-sponsored #SpendDatChallenge.
