  • She just wants to be beautiful
She goes unnoticed, she knows no limits
She craves attention, she praises an image
She prays to be sculpted by the sculptor
Oh, she don't see the light that's shining
Deeper than the eyes can find it
Maybe we have made her blind
So she tries to cover up her pain and cut her woes away
'Cause covergirls don't cry after their face is made

But there's a hope that's waiting for you in the dark
You should know you're beautiful just the way you are
And you don't have to change a thing, the world could change its heart
No scars to your beautiful, we're stars and we're beautiful (sing)
    Oh-oh, oh
    Oh-oh, oh, oh
And you don't have to change a thing, the world could change its heart
No scars to your beautiful, we're stars and we're beautiful

Now, she has dreams to be an envy, so she's starving
    You know, covergirls eat nothing
She says, "beauty is pain and there's beauty in everything"
"What's a little bit of hunger?"
"I can go a little while longer", she fades away
She don't see her perfect, she don't understand she's worth it
Or that beauty goes deeper than the surface, oh, oh
    So to everyone who's hurting
Let me be your mirror, help you see a little bit clearer
    The light that shines within

There's a hope that's waiting for you in the dark
You should know you're beautiful just the way you are
And you don't have to change a thing, the world could change its heart
No scars to your beautiful, we're stars and we're beautiful (Toronto, sing)
    Oh-oh, oh
    Oh-oh, oh, oh
You don't have to change a thing, the world could change its heart
No scars to your beautiful, we're stars and we're beautiful

No better you than the you that you are (no better you than the you that you are)
No better life than the life we're living (no better life than the life we're living)
No better time for your shine, you're a star (no better time for your shine, you're a star)
Oh, you're beautiful, oh, you're beautiful

There's a hope that's waiting for you in the dark
You should know you're beautiful just the way you are
And you don't have to change a thing, the world could change its heart
No scars to your beautiful, we're stars and we're beautiful
Oh-oh, oh (Toronto, let me hear you)
    Oh-oh, oh, oh
And you don't have to change a thing, the world could change its heart
No scars to your beautiful, we're stars and we're beautiful

  • Pulkit from TorontoAs a guy, I wish someone wrote a song about, what most guys go through? Multiple battle, not just scars, but also all the responsibility we have in life to provide. Never would I have thought that my passion will become a stressful job. Never have I ever thought, that I would become a corporate slave. Like, tf, all I wanna do is go read a book on beach, and enjoy the sunlight. And no one around to disturb you. Ahhh. I am sorry, I got sidetracked. Your song is beautiful!!
  • EmmyI love this song! It makes me cry.
  • Paige from AustraliaI think this song would've helped alot of women understand that life with them in it is amazing. Cara has actually help me stop causing self-harm and I appreciate it:)
  • Sj from IowaIt's a little late to comment on here but I'm so greatly proud of this girl for paying attention to what society does to girls she put the song together so greatly and was greatly compassionate about this wonder song I love how she made this song for the girls that struggle with so many mental health issues or even them looking in the mirror and saying I'm fat I can't lose weight I don't look good enough or even the ones who say I'm too skinny I can't gain weight she truly did amazing.
  • Christine from Home Real beautiful lyrics with much meaning and the most beautiful understanding and compassion from the singer as I have struggled all my life under harsh mental health systems that no one wanted to know, on top of their drugs to cause severe weight issues suffering from mainly bulimic symptoms together with facial scars that received over those many years rejections and many insults from 'normal' people in the community who had never been committed to the horror places of mental health institutes from early in life. Thank you for such a song Allessia, thank you for remembering those women in life who have suffered a severe body image feeling never good enough for so long as I have. Thank you for being there for us.
  • Aneliza from From Home =,=this song well she is saying to all the girls out there that are cutting them self's and hurting them self's she is telling them what there beauiful and they don't have to and she said "so all the girls that's hurting let me be ur mirror Help u see a little bit clearer" she's meaning that like she's saying ur great don';t change ur self it might not help but there is people like that in the world i know it but i am still sad i know people can help if u just say
