  • Rockin' around the Christmas tree
    At the Christmas party hop
Mistletoe hung where you can see
    Every couple tries to stop
    Rockin' around the Christmas tree
    Let the Christmas spirit ring
Later we'll have some pumpkin pie
    And we'll do some caroling

You will get a sentimental feeling when you hear
    Voices singing, let's be jolly
Deck the halls with boughs of holly
    Rockin' around the Christmas tree
    Have a happy holiday
    Everyone dancin' merrily
    In the new old-fashioned way

Oh, you will get a sentimental feeling when you hear
    Voices singing, let's be jolly
Deck the halls with boughs of holly
    Rockin' around the Christmas tree
    Have a happy holiday
    Everyone dancin' merrily
In the new old-fashioned way Writer/s: Johnny Marks

  • Wendy from WisconsinI thought Brenda said she was 12 when she recorded it?
  • Susan from IllinoisMy favorite holiday song!
  • Camille from Toronto, OhYes, Brenda Lee’s unique and powerful vocals on this tune are accented to perfection by Hank "Sugarfoot" Garland’s masterful guitar playing, and the song’s appeal is further enhanced with the rockin’ sax played by Boots Randolph. Brenda Lee's original version has sold over 25 million copies around the world with the 4th most digital downloads sold of any Christmas single. (Hank Garland also played guitar on Bobby Helms’ “Jingle Bell Rock.”)
  • Micheal Mc Keown from Blackrock IrelandI love Brenda Lee's voice.
  • Tc from MidwestWhat is the guy saying as the song fades... sounds like “homina homina homina” or “samina samina samina”. You can just barely hear it but I’ve wondered for about 50 years what he is saying/ singing....he says it 6 times.....

  • Barry from Sauquoit, NyOn December 9th, 1962, "Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree" by Brenda Lee entered Billboard's Hot Top 100 chart for a three week stay, peaking at #59...
It was the third Christmas season in row that it made the Top 100; in 1960 it spent 4 weeks on the chart & reached #50, and a year earlier in 1960 it once again stayed on the chart for only 4 weeks, but managed to peak at #14...
On Billboard's Hot Country Singles chart, the group Alabama took their covered version to #64 in 1999.
  • Tricia from Rockville Centre, NyI really enjoy listening to this song...puts you in the Christmas motive....but ...I dont like the part where is says..."Everyone's dancing merrily in the new old-fashioned way"....Total OXY MORON!! How can you dance new and then old fashion .....Oh well still one of the classical Christmas songs! :-)
  • Efrain from Ensenada, MexicoThis is my favorite Christmas song
  • Mike from Franklin County, PaThe song was sang in the Rankin - Bass animated special back in the 70s ; where Rhudolf , Frosty and Crystal ( and their kids ) and other characters , would performed circus acts in a circus tent . While they were doing a Christmas theme in the tent near a Christmas tree and christmas presents , one of the animated characters would stand on top one of the christmas presents and sing the song to the audience .
  • Don from Sacramento, CaRockin Around The Christmas is my all time favorite Christmas song
