  • I've been caught stealing
    Once when I was 5
    I enjoy stealing
It's just as simple as that
Well, it's just a simple fact
    When I want something,
I don't want to pay for it
I walk right through the door
    Walk right through the door
    Hey all right!
If I get by, it's mine
    Mine all mine!
    My girl, she's one too
She'll go and get her a shirt
    Stick it under her skirt
She grabbed a razor for me
And she did it just like that
When she wants something, she don't want to pay for it
She walk right through the door
    Walk right through the door
    Hey all right!
If I get by, it's mine
    Mine all mine!
    We sat around the pile
    We sat and laughed
We sat and laughed and waved it into the air!
And we did it just like that
When we want something, we don't want to pay for it
We walk right through the door
    Walk right through the door
    Hey, all right!
If I get by, it's mine, mine, mine, mine, mine, mine, mine. . . Writer/s: DAVID NAVARRO, ERIC ADAM AVERY, LOU REED, PERRY FARRELL, STEPHEN PERKINS

  • Bononista from NorcalDoes anyone have a list of the participants in the video, specifically the dancers? IMDB is incomplete.
  • Travis from WilmingtonReminds me of Baltimore. I had just got locked up for heroin possession.(M} which sounds like a very small quantity right. In North East cities you have to have 10 grams to get a felony charge. In NC that's 8 to 14
  • Manfred from 45410Can anyone explain to me how LOU REED gets songwriting credit on this? Credits appear the same way on Amazon Music, but I have yet to find any mention anywhere of Lou Reed's contribution. Don't get me wrong... love Lou, and would be interested to hear of him collaborating with JA, but...

BTW-- Has this song ever been more appropriate than it is right now (Sep '21) in light of the SHOPLIFTING FREE-FOR-ALL that is going on in SAN FRANCISCO? It's craaazy. Check the news. Up to $950 worth is a misdemeanor. Security guards are instructed to not confront, just observe and report. SFPD can't arrive in time to act and, as it's a misdemeanor, don't invest a lot of time on follow-up. People are walking out with all they can carry- with no consequences. Would love to see a video for the song that is made-up of news footage clips.
  • Hy from Usa And Totally Cool With ItNo allegorical meaning. He explained onstage that he likes the rush of stealing. "It's just as simple as that."
  • Amit from Chicago, Il, UsaFor some reason, this song reminds me of Deep Purple's Hush Hush.
  • Willie from Scottsdale, AzTwo words: arf ... arf ... buh bye! :-)
  • G from Potomac, MdWindy, don't you mean the Simpsons episode where Marge is caught ahoplifting by Apu which came out many years before it was blatantly ripped off?
  • Jeff from Austin, Txthe dude dressed like a pregnant woman wasn't a band member.
  • Madalyn from Greensburg, Pathe song would be so much better without the dogs barking
other wise its a good song
  • Joel from Columbia, ScFile this one under missheard lyrics. I used to think they were saying "Hey, Iraq, give it back...It's mine.
  • Sled from St. Louis, NeThe lyrics are metaphorical innuendo for sexual pleasure without consideration of the other ("When we want something, we don't want to pay for it./We walk right through the door.") and the boastful celebration afterwards ("We sat and laughed. We sat and laughed and waved it into the air!"

  • Joe from Glendale, NyThis is also a great video. It Shows everyone in the band in some grocery store shoplifting. One is dressed up as a pregnant woman.
  • Windy from Otway, Ohthis song makes me think of the Family Guy episode where lois Steals from stores, but is caught by Joe. Also, this is on GTA:San Andreas.
