  • Mike M from PnwThis April will be 40 years since my best friend in high school took his life. There was a pier behind his parent's house that we used to hang out on. Great guy, very funny, charismatic, good looking, never drank and drove, always had me slow down when I was driving and went above the speed limit, that kind of guy. That day in April 1984 I was at home and got a call from my mother telling me that ____ shot himself the night before. I hung up the phone and didn't know what to do, no car, way out in the sticks. I started walking to the local hospital, where he had to be. I got a ride after about four miles of walking and thinking. This old man dropped me off at the hospital on his way to town. I asked the front desk/ nurse's station "where could I find ____'s room". They told me that there wasn't anyone there by that name. So, I thought good, what my mother told me wasn't true. I walked another couple of miles to the store where we had all worked at, my mother, me, other friends and ___ at one time. As I looked in everyone's faces and seen their tears, it hit me that it wasn't a dream or an exaggerated rumor. I've heard that song on the radio more times in the last three days than in a quite good while. It's a good one, brings him back and the times we had. Until we meet again. -Please Support Suicide Prevention-
  • Camille from Toronto, OhWhat captured my interest in this tune was a video on CMT of Chris Stapleton singing the song accompanied by Lady Antebellum. Hillary Scott, one of Lady A's singers, enhances any man's vocals, she has the voice of an angel. The emotional delivery of the lyrics by Chris and Hillary is magical. I agree that many people can relate to the lyrics in some way. When I learned of my father's passing, I sat down with a cup of cappuccino and let the news sink in. The loss of a loved one is time for great reflection and contemplation while you decide how to move forward without them.
  • Mitch from Lake Wales, FlVery nice song, I wanted to know more about the writers as I song write and wrote a song a year ago very similar in fact some lyrics are word for word some people told me a song like that wouldn't become a hit, I have always disagreed and this song has showed me to continue my style of writing.
