  • Aitch was born Harrison James Armstrong in Moston, a suburb of North Manchester. He takes his stage name from the British pronunciation of the letter "H" - the first initial of his first name. "It's just an 'H' really, isn't it," he said of the alias. "Aitch - that's me."
  • Aitch describes Moston with fierce affection despite its rough reputation. "To some people, Moston is probably the worst area in Manchester, but to me, it's the best place in the world," he told The Telegraph.

His father was a pipe fitter and mechanical engineer, and he has said he considers himself lucky for having been raised by both parents - something not all of his friends could say.
  • Aitch got his start in the most unlikely of ways. As a teenager, he began imitating a character from the 1999 comedy film Scary Movie purely as a joke, before realizing he had a genuine gift for rapping. "That must have been the day I found what I could do," he told Hypebeast. From there he graduated to swapping freestyle verses with friends over Snapchat, and by 2016 was properly recording on beats.
  • "Straight Rhymez" was the track that launched his career. A stream-of-consciousness freestyle in which he switches between flows with the ease of a seasoned veteran - remarkable given he was just 18 at the time. The video racked up over 26 million views on YouTube and caught the attention of grime heavyweight Stormzy, who helped bring Aitch to a wider national audience
  • His debut album, Close to Home, reached #2 on the UK Albums Chart and made history as the first album using NFT technology to chart in the UK. To mark its launch, Aitch unveiled two NFT collections on the LimeWire platform, making him a pioneer in blending new digital formats with mainstream British rap.
  • Aitch's early influences were almost entirely American. "A lot of 50 Cent and just bare American rap," he told XXL, along with Wiz Khalifa and Detroit artists like Sada Baby. It was only as he grew older that he pivoted to UK rap, eventually becoming one of its leading voices. That transatlantic pull has been a consistent thread in his music, blending American-influenced flows with distinctly Mancunian wit and subject matter.
  • Aitch is a vocal supporter of Down's syndrome awareness, inspired by his younger sister Gracie, who was born with the condition. In 2022 he released "My G" featuring Ed Sheeran, donating proceeds to the Down's Association, where he serves as an ambassador. He described Gracie to The Independent as "the sickest person I've ever met." He says that, setting aside the fact she is his sister, she is simply his favorite person.
  • At the 2023 BRIT Awards, Aitch won Best British Hip Hop/Grime/Rap Act - the first time the category had ever been awarded.
  • Aitch appeared on the 2025 series of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!, where he became one of the more popular campmates before being eliminated one day before the final. During his time in the jungle, he spoke movingly about Gracie and how seeing model Ellie Goldstein - the first contestant with Down's syndrome on Strictly Come Dancing - had brought his sister enormous joy. "She was like, 'she's one of God's special children like me,'" Aitch told his campmates.
