Songfacts®:

  • Courtney Barnett penned this tune for her Sometimes I Sit and Think, and Sometimes I Just Sit album, but it was left off the final track listing. She told NME the story behind this song: "When I was a kid I used to get this weird thing where everything was amplified and distorted in my head. Other people's voices, birds chirping, cars driving past, and my own internal monologue, it all sounded like everyone was screaming at me. I wrote the lyrics to this song on the floor of the studio on the last day of recording."
