Songfacts®:

  • This song finds Justin Bieber waiting for a girl he's been pursuing. "You ain't gotta make your mind up right now," he croons. "Calm down, don't rush, no pressure."

Many fans have speculated that the subject of this song is Selena Gomez, whom Bieber dated for several years and he freely describes as his first love. However, in an interview with Ellen DeGeneres the singer stated that the three songs on Purpose that are about Gomez are "What Do You Mean?," "Mark My Words" and a "little bit" of "Sorry."
  • Big Sean raps the third verse. This is the third collaboration between Bieber and the Detroit rhymer. Their first two were the Believe track, "As Long As You Love Me" and "Memphis", which appeared on Bieber's previous album Journals.
