Songfacts®:

  • Pete Carr put together the group LeBlanc & Carr with Lenny LeBlanc and created the album Midnight Light as both artist and producer. The song "Falling" became a big hit for LeBlanc & Carr. The track was mixed at FAME Studios in Muscle Shoals, Alabama, which is where Pete did most of the mixing for his production projects. The group's first tour was with Lynyrd Skynyrd on the "Street Survivors Tour" and ended tragically with an airplane crash in Mississippi on October 20,1977. After this tragedy, and other band problems, Pete decided to return to the studio. >>>

  • Mdev from TexasAlways loved this song, but it several years later that I realized the sheer genius in the lyrics. He sings about every season except one… Fall… because he’s Fall-ing in all 3 other verses.
    Amazing when it hits you.
  • Jeff BakerIt’s the feelings you get in a relationship when the light all of a sudden goes on and it’s Heavenly…..
  • Deborah from Neosho, MoI am in love with this song all over again. My husband and I sang this as a duo in the '80s, then had other jobs, and now we have retired and jam with acoustic musicians twice a month. With my wonderful headphones I can now hear every note and I am in love with "Falling" all over again. Wow. Wish I could tell them how much I love this song and their beautiful harmonies.
  • Barry from Sauquoit, NyOn October 9th 1977, "Falling" by Lenny LaBlanc and Pete Carr entered Billboard's Hot Top 100 chart at position #87; and twenty-four weeks later on March 26th, 1978 it peaked at #13 {for 1 week} and spent over a half-year on the Top 100 {28 weeks}...
It reached #11 on Billboard's Adult Contemporary Tracks chart...
The duo had two other records make the Top 100 chart; "Something About You" {peaked at #48 in 1977} and "Midnight Light" {reached #91 in 1978}.
  • Dave from Wheaton, IlDid Lenny LeBlanc sing the verses on it? Please let me know. Thanx! Also, did Pete sing the high harmony in the chorus?
  • Mike from Santa Barbara, CaIt's a simple and beautiful song. The kind which can state how overwhelming first love can be.
  • Barry from Sauquoit, NyIn 1963 Roy Orbison charted with a completely different record titled "Falling"; it peaked at No. 22!!!
  • Rob from Fredericton, NbOddly enough, I listen to music from just about every decade and every genre. This one, although heard before, was unfortunately forgotten. While going through a compilation disc on my computer, I ran across this song not realizing anything about the title or the artist(s) and when the chorus kicked in...I heard it before. If there was anything that made this song so beautiful was the chorus's rhythm. It's definitely a song you can take a sigh of ease with and feel a sense of calm. The best part of this song that makes it such a great love song is when you play that with your loved one in your arms. Definitely noted as one of my favourite love songs ever created.
  • Brent from Idaho Falls, IdRachelle, whever you are in life, I will always think of you whenever I hear this song. You were the love that got away...
  • Nanciellen from East Weymouth, Maso pretty.
