Songfacts®:

  • This 4 track instrumental demo was recorded by James Skelly (guitar/vocals), Ian Skelly (drums/percussion), Bill Ryder-Jones (guitar/), Lee Southall (guitar/) and Paul Duffy (bass), in Ian's bedroom when they were teenagers. All five eventually ended up in The Coral. Frontman James Skelly explained on his record label's website: "It's like Smile played by weird reggae and dub musicians. We were all 15, 16, 17 and who else at that age could make music like that? Our aim was to set up this other kind of world, be like David Lynch, Tom Waits, it was somewhere you could escape into."
