Songfacts®:

  • Butterfly House is the first album The Coral recorded without guitarist Bill Ryder-Jones, who quit in 2008. His departure forced the band to shift everyone around. "Winter" was the result of frontman James Skelly laying down the law to bandmate Lee Southall. He recalled to The NME: "I was like, you're gonna have to take it on now as a guitarist! 'What've you got?' and then he played those chords."
