Songfacts®:

  • Living in a pandemic has been challenging for Trippie Redd, a rapper who loves to perform live. The Ohio native titled this trap-metal cut, which he dropped on May 7, 2021, after how he misses "the rage." Trippie explained the meaning behind the title to XXL. "I been locked away. I'm one of them people that's at the festivals, I come out going crazy out the rips. I'm ready to get back to my stage presence. I'm tired of sitting in the house 'cause that's all I been doing."
  • The song title does not appear in the lyrics. Instead, Trippie talks about his love for the GTA video game, warns off his haters and flexes about his guap (disposable money), and women.
  • Playboi Carti joins Trippie on the track, rapping a verse about the woman he's pleasuring. Trippie caused a stir on social media a couple of days before the song's release when he named Playboi Carti in his all-time Top 5 rappers list.
  • Trippie originally teased "Miss The Rage" on Instagram on December 21, 2020 to considerable hype. As the song's intro gained traction on TikTok, fans inserted Carti's vocals from his unreleased track "Want To" atop its beat. The popularity of the edit led to Trippie inviting Carti to jump on the track.
  • Dutch producer Loesoe supplied the beat. His other credits include Lil Uxi Vert's "Futsal Shuffle 2020."
