Songfacts®:

  • Young pays tribute to the love of his life on this soaring love ballad. The song was written by:

Marv Green, whose resume includes Lonestar's classic love song, "Amazed," as well as Carrie Underwood's "Wasted."

Paul Jenkins and Jason Sellers, who frequently write together. Amongst their credits are Jason Aldean's #1 smash with Kelly Clarkson, "Don't You Wanna Stay" as well as Thompson Square's first chart-topper, "If I Didn't Have You."

Young said: "From the first time I heard this song I knew I had to have it for my record and I fell completely in love with it. It's a song that speaks to being totally in love with someone and the feelings you get from a connection like that. The feeling that just being around that person is all you need."
  • This was released as the second single from A.M. Young explained why to Taste of Country: "For me, going from the top of this record, I really wanted to lead with something uptempo," he said. "To kind of come back and have a change of pace with a song like 'Who I Am With You' — I didn't even write this song, but I've always been one of those people that puts the best song first. I don't care if it's mine or not."
  • The song's music video shows the toll it can taking being on the road, as we watch Young on the phone with a loved one before hitting the stage. "This was definitely a first for me," tweeted Young. "Shooting a video in part at a live show was really cool."
