Album: Vox Humana (1985)

  • Kenny Loggins and David Foster have collaborated on many songs together including "Heart To Heart" (with Mike McDonald) and "The Real Thing." This one was co-written by Foster and Loggins' first wife Eva Ein.
  • This song was written for a short film called Access All Areas and Kenny claims to have sung it in different languages. He has ended all his concerts with "Forever" because he knows that his audience will be back "even when I'm gone" (not meaning he's passed away).
  • The guy in the song is talking about holding on to his lover, dreaming she's not with him and then finding out he's lost his love but will "always remember." Kenny and Eva divorced around 1988.
  • The song was sung by Maritka on the TV show Kids Incorporated. She went on to have a #1 US hit with "Toy Soldiers."
  • The Filipino singer Martin Nievera recorded a popular version of this song, but it will forever (no pun inteded) be associated with Kenny Loggins.
  • David Foster also co-produced the Footloose song "Heaven Help the Man." The guitar solo in both songs is by Toto's Steve Lukather. >>
